French Toast

We always have more bread than we know what to do with since there is only the two of us! We only eat it whenever we crave a PB&J sandwich anyway, so it always goes to waste. I decided to use our whole wheat bread to make French Toast and it was just as delicious as other breads! I do recommend, however, that you use something like Challah! Serve with some fresh fruit and enjoy!
Yields: 8 - 12 slices of French Toast
Ingredients:
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup milk
1 pinch of salt
3 eggs
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 tbsp. sugar (white or brown)
Bread of your choice
Unsalted butter for frying

Directions:
1. Add the flour into a large bowl and slowly whisk in the milk. Add the rest of the ingredients and whisk until incorporated.

2. Heat a griddle or a frying pan over medium heat.

3. Coat the bread in the mixture until saturated. I like to flip it a couple of times in the mixture and let it sit for a minute.

4. Generously coat the griddle or pan with unsalted butter and cook the bread until golden brown on each side, about 2-3 minutes total. Serve with some confectioner's sugar and maple syrup with some fresh fruit!
